My name is Laura Adams and I am a senior at North Carolina State University. I am majoring in the College of Textiles with a concentration in Fashion and Apparel Management: Brand Marketing with a minor in Journalism. This is my digital portfolio to showcase my work from COM 267: Electronic Media Writing: Theory and Practice consisting of my blog, an audio-visual project, and a podcast. These projects are on the following two pages. This course aimed for students to understand the various processes for writing for different media outlets and applied to various situations. Production values as well as writing were explored and skills were tuned to complete the projects mentioned above. Much of this course was all new information for me. I learned a lot about writing for electronic media as well as steps in production and challenges met. This course provided me the opportunity to create a fashion blog which incorporates my passion as well as a potential career. I chose to pursue a journalism minor to fine tune my writing skills to be a fashion writer. The production values and editing skills I learned will aid me in any other future opportunities for an online magazine, blog posts, and extending my knowledge into the future opportunities of journalism.
A student in my class has a great sports blog I've followed. I don't get the chance to follow football at NC State, and Shianne Gunther has it all!
